Sussex South Downs National Park

Historic and hedonistic, elegant and offbeat, that is sometimes a description given to the 'Sussex South Downs' which are situated just a few minutes drive from our premises, you can be enjoying the views from high up on Devil’s Dyke in no time.

From the 31st March 2010 this area becomes designated as a National Park.

Nature reserves close by include Castle Hill and Ditchling Beacon, both home to orchids, butterflies and many species of birds, and in spring, Butcher’s Wood near Hassocks is famous for its bluebells.

Also close by is Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters. With their dramatic white cliffs and gently undulating downs, it is an area of outstanding natural beauty and tranquility.

We also boast picturesque villages nearby, including Clayton, with its landmark Jack and Jill windmills, and historic Ditchling, a magnet for artists since the 1920s, and traditional country pubs serving great food and real ales.
